Quid Pro Quo, South Africa’s beloved racing superstar, has officially changed ownership after passing her veterinary checks. The transaction is now complete, marking an exciting new chapter for the standout filly and her owners, Team Valor.
Barry Irwin, head of Team Valor, expressed his delight: "The deal has been signed and sealed for Quid Pro Quo. We are thrilled to have concluded this arrangement for such a classy individual."
Fans won’t have to bid farewell to her just yet, as Quid Pro Quo is set to have at least one more race in South Africa. Her connections have earmarked the Gauteng Fillies Guineas as the primary goal, with the Colts Guineas as a backup plan if she draws poorly in the Fillies Guineas.
She’s unlikely to make the next international flight, which solidifies the decision to keep her in local competition for now.
Irwin assured supporters that her legacy as "South Africa’s horse" remains intact. "She’s the darling of the turf with an incredible fan base, as we’ve seen through social media. To everyone who loves her, she will always be your horse, and we hope you continue to share in this journey with us."
Quid Pro Quo’s glittering resume speaks for itself: two Grade 1 wins, two Grade 2 victories, including that memorable triumph over the boys in the Gr2 Dingaans. Her talent makes her standout for fans.
She will be at Turffontein on Guineas Day at the beginning of February!
