The 2024 Japan Racing Association (JRA) Awards recognized the outstanding achievements of the season, with Do Deuce claiming the highest honor as Horse of the Year. The five-year-old son of Heart's Cry, out of the Vindication mare Dust and Diamonds, also secured the title of Best Older Horse. A consistent and versatile performer, Do Deuce's dominance across key races made him a standout contender for the prestigious accolades.
Category Winners Celebrate a Stellar Year
The awards highlighted the exceptional talent across all divisions. Among the three-year-olds, Danon Decile (Epiphaneia - Top Decile by Congrats) and Cervinia (Harbinger - Cecchino by King Kamehameha) were named Best 3YO Colt and Filly, respectively. Stunning Rose (King Kamehameha - Rosa Blanca by Kurofune) earned the title of Best Older Filly or Mare, showcasing her consistency at the highest level.
In the juvenile categories, Croix du Nord (Kitasan Black - Rising Cross by Cape Cross) and Arma Veloce (Harbinger - Rakuami by Daiwa Major) emerged as the top 2YO Colt and Filly, setting the stage for bright futures. Other winners included Lemon Pop (Best Dirt Horse) for a second time, Lugal (Best Sprinter), Soul Rush (Best Miler), and Nishino Daisy (Best Steeplechase Horse). A Special Award was presented to Forever Young (Real Steel - Forever Darling by Congrats) in recognition of his unique achievements and contributions to the sport.
