Production and Mic issues Plague King's Plate Broadcast

The Cape Racing broadcast, the first time they are broadcasting on their own, has been plagued with teething issues on the television picture of the King's Plate day.

Microphones weren't working properly and lines across the screen have appeared. It isn't easy to take over from an existing broadcaster but it isn't unexpected to have issues either. It's a pity that the King's Plate day had to come as the first race in the new year for the new broadcast team as they haven't had a 'test' run before the big meeting.

The first race microphone issues stopped presenter Vicky Minott from completing her interview with the owner. The race was taken out by 7/10 favourite Black Cheetah.

When the broadcast moved to an interview with the winning jockey, lines appeared across the screen as seen in the image.

The day at Kenilworth itself looks superb. The weather is excellent and sponsor L'Ormarins always hosts an excellent King's Plate day.
