Justify, the renowned American stallion and sire of Storm Boy, will not shuttle to Australia this year, as confirmed by Tom Magnier of Coolmore Australia. Justify will continue to stand at Ashford Stud in Kentucky and breed select mares to southern hemisphere time later in the year. Magnier emphasized that Justify's decision was aimed at managing his workload, considering his increasing demand in the northern hemisphere. Despite this, Coolmore plans to send some of their top Australian mares to Justify in Kentucky, following a similar approach to how Frankel is handled in England.
In light of Justify's absence, Coolmore announced the retirement of last year's Golden Slipper winner, Shinzo, to stud. Shinzo is expected to attract significant attention, with over 150 mares already slated to visit him this spring. Meanwhile, Justify has been making waves as a stallion, producing impressive progeny such as Storm Boy and Learning To Fly. In the northern hemisphere, Justify has already sired five Group 1 winners, including City Of Troy, who is set to resume racing in the Guineas at Newmarket soon. The anticipation is high, with City Of Troy aiming to make history as a potential triple crown winner.
