A striking son of Highest Honor has captured the excitement of the South African breeding fraternity. He is Medaaly and he is in South Africa ready to enhance the breed in the country as he has done in Europe and Australia already.

Already a first season champion sire in France, the grey bomber comes from a serious family and coupled with his racing ability, he is destined for the stars. Being a  former Darley inmate says volumes. Not only have Darley Stud stood this handsome grey, but they ranked him as a serious talent when at the stud. Darley Stud, normally very selective with their band of stallions, chose Medaaly as one of a few to go to stud. The up and coming stud farm, Oaklands Estate, also saw the potential in this stallion and snapped up the champion for their farm in Wellington outside Cape Town.

Raced in Britain at 2 and 3 years. Won 3 races (1400- 1600m) from only 6 starts.

    Won Silverdale Maiden Stks (1400m. Doncaster) by 2,5 lengths from Further Outlook. 31 May 1996.

    Won Charterhouse Conditions Stks (1600m. Sandown) by 3,5 lengths from Imperial President. 30 Aug 1996.

    Won Racing Post Trophy Gp1 (1600m. Doncaster) by 0.5 lengths from Poteen (2nd 2000 Guineas, Gp1) and 1.75 lengths from Benny of The Dip (won         Epsom Derby, Gp1). 26 Oct 1996.

STUD RECORD

Medaaly retired to stud in France in 1999. He shuttled to Australia in 2000. His first crop are 5-Y-O`s of 2005. His first two crops yielded 80 out of 105 runners who were in the money.

His first 5 crops have produced 96 winners to date. His second crop produced 14 individual juvenile winners.
