Before arriving in South Africa in early 1981, FOVEROS had raced in England and France, securing 3 wins. In South Africa, he raced in the colors of the JR Syndicate (nominee Mr. Jim Redman) and was trained by Herman Brown. With Basil Marcus as his regular jockey, FOVEROS won 5 major races:
