MATHEW DE KOCK TO RETURN FROM AUSTRALIA

Mathew de Kock Part Ways with Griffiths Racing, Marking the End of a Promising Partnership

In a heartfelt announcement that signals a new chapter for both parties, Mathew and Monique de Kock have decided to step away from their successful collaboration with Griffiths Racing. Known for their remarkable talent and dedication, Mathew de Kock joined the Australian stable a few years ago, bringing expertise, energy, and a global perspective to the team.

Grateful for their tenure, Mathew acknowledged the invaluable experience gained during their time with Griffiths Racing. "We are forever grateful to Robbie and Shiranee for the opportunity they gave us to join their established business," he stated, underscoring both their appreciation for the Griffiths’ support and the professional growth they experienced.

The partnership was, by all accounts, mutually rewarding. Robbie Griffiths, the respected co-head of Griffiths Racing, emphasized the positive impact the de Kocks had on the operation. "Mathew and Monique had a significant contribution to our business during this period," he said. "They have our understanding and support in this decision."

Together, Griffiths and de Kock Racing had successfully broadened the team’s profile, combining Griffiths' deep-rooted Australian racing knowledge with the de Kocks' international insights. Under this partnership, they trained numerous winning horses, bringing a fresh dimension to the racing team that resonated with both local and global audiences.

The news of their departure leaves Australian fans and industry insiders speculating about what might come next for the de Kocks as they move back home to South Africa, mainly due to family reasons and bringing up of a young family. It also cannot be understated that the industry in South Africa, being in recovery mode, has added a smart young trainer to its ranks again.

De Kock has not stated his ambitions back in South Africa as yet but it will be likely that he will train, it's more a matter of whether he will go it alone or join his father, Mike.
