The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa confirms the reported Prohibited Substance findings.

SUPERSKITT was disqualified, and Trainer W C Marwing signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined the sum of R18 000 (Eighteen Thousand Rand) for a contravention of Rule 73.2.3 in that a specimen which was collected from this horse prior to the running of the 1st race on 31 August 2024, at Turffontein Racecourse disclosed upon analysis the presence of Flunixin (Class 4).

RUGGER LOVER was disqualified, and Trainer M N Prinsloo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined the sum of R20 000 (Twenty Thousand Rand) for a contravention of Rule 73.2.4 in that a specimen which was collected from this horse after the running after Race 8 on 25 August 2024, at Hollywoodbets Scottsville Racecourse disclosed upon analysis the presence of Flunixin (Class 4).

PRINCEOFGREEN was disqualified and Trainer P F Matchett signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined the sum of R105 000 (One Hundred and Five Thousand Rand) for a contravention of Rule 73.2.2 in that a specimen which was collected from this horse prior to the running of the 6th race on 12 October 2024, at Turffontein Racecourse disclosed upon analysis the presence of Flunixin (Class 4).

When assessing penalty, careful consideration was given to the class of substance, the respective Trainer’s penalty record of prior prohibited substance contraventions during the last five-year period, the concentration of the prohibited substance in the specimen and the status of the race.
