GO Well Sunshine! - Shaheen Shaw (1969-2024)(

The passing of Shaheen Shaw is an unimaginable loss. He was a larger-than-life figure, yet always championed the everyday person. Sadly the great racing man passed away earlier today.

His generous spirit shone through his charitable efforts, especially with his feeding scheme, with his passion for horse racing and its betting aspect was undeniable.

Shaheen wasn’t afraid to voice his opinions on critical matters, standing firm in his beliefs—a rare quality in today’s world. He forged his own path, never simply following the crowd, and carved out a legacy that punters and fans across South Africa admired deeply. His unparalleled knowledge, ability to build huge betting pools, and understanding of the everyday man set him apart as one of a kind—a true man of the people.

Yet, when he needed support the most, the system failed him, as it has done for so many who have given their all for the sports betterment. For his supporters, he was a man who understood the greater significance of collective effort, never losing sight of the bigger picture.

Rest in peace, Shaheen. You will be missed.
