Top horseman and handler of Star J J The Jet Plane passes

The South African horse racing community is mourning the loss of Everisto Nyambo, a beloved figure in Johannesburg whose dedication to the sport spanned over 16 years with the Lucky Houdalakis stable. Known for his deep passion for horses and unwavering commitment, Everisto was an integral part of the Houdalakis team, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the pleasure of working with him.

As a key member of the Lucky Houdalakis stable, he played a crucial role in many memorable moments, including the team's successful journeys to Hong Kong and Dubai with the renowned JJ The Jet Plane. His expertise and enthusiasm were also evident in countless other ventures, from raiding trips to Kwazulu Natal to his most recent journey to Cape Town with Dyce.

Everisto was not only respected for his professional achievements but also cherished for his warm personality. His contagious smile and positive spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met, making him a beacon of light in the often demanding world of horse racing.

His spirit, passion, and dedication will continue to inspire those who knew him, and his legacy will endure in the many lives he touched.

Everisto is survived by his wife, Netsai, his children, and his extended family, who are in the thoughts and prayers of all who knew him during this difficult time. The impact he had on his colleagues and the broader horse racing community will not be forgotten, and his memory will forever be cherished.

Lucky Houdalakis said on his media, "I loved you so much China. Right now I don’t have words. RIP brother. I will do whatever I can to help Netsai and the kids to the best I can. Our journey will go to my grave with me."

Rest in peace, Everisto Nyambo. Your legacy will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know you.
