Fierceness put his naysayers in their place when he took down a classy field of contenders in the G2 Jim Dandy.
Fierceness took up a tracking position in the race behind the long time leader, Pony Express.
It was a gutsy effort in the straight under John Velazquez that took Fierceness to the win after drifting to the middle of the course. Sierra Leone, the market leader, at odds on was coming with his late run from the back of the field and the two hooked up in the straight for the long awaiting showdown. They were far apart but Fierceness won well for Todd Pletcher and Repole Stables.
He put that below par Kentucky Derby run in the back burner and re-claimed a leading spot in the 3 year old division after winning the Florida Derby G1 earlier this term.
