MERIDIUS BOOKS JULY TICKET WITH JUBILEE WIN

With no races that guarantee Durban July places, the main led up races should entitle the winners of those to get in.

The chief Joburg race is the Jubilee Handicap where the 110 rated MERIDIUS won for the Tony Peter stable ahead of Atticus Finch and the returning Son Of Raj.

Son Of Raj was of particular interest as he was the top weight and ran on well under the handicap conditions to gjve Tony Peter a 1,3l in the race. Favourite Purple Pitch was a tad disappointing finishing only 7th carrying 58kg over the 1800m trip. He was beaten 4.75l at the wire.

In all the July shake up is happening with decisions to be made for many runners.
