Mauritius Champ Heading for South Africa

Ianish Taka, the champion jockey of Mauritius in 2023, has embarked on a new journey

He was spotted flying to South Africa from Mauritius yesterday. Taka is set to undertake a three-year internship at the jockeys' academy.

Taka expressed his gratitude to Preetam Daby, acknowledging his significant support and mentorship throughout his career.

Previously, Taka secured the title of champion jockey in the Mauritian category for People's Turf PLC (PTP) in 2023 with 31 victories, following his overall championship win in 2022 with the former organizer, the Mauritius Turf Club (MTC).
