Bay Bridge has retired from racing and will commence stud duties in 2024 at the Devins' Haras du Mesnil, standing for €6,000 alongside Doctor Dino and Telecaster.
The son of New Bay had a patient campaign under Sir Michael Stoute, racing twice at two and completing an unbeaten three-year-old season, including victories in a Newcastle novice over 1m2f, two handicaps, and the Listed James Seymour Stakes.
Progressing at four, he won the Gr.3 Brigadier Gerard Stakes and finished second in the Gr.1 Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot. His season concluded with a notable victory in the Gr.1 Champion Stakes, defeating Adayar (Frankel) and Baaeed (Sea The Stars).
In the current season, he claimed the Gr.3 September Stakes and secured placements in the Gr.1 Prix Ganay and Gr.1 Tattersalls Gold Cup. Bred by James Wigan and Ballylinch Stud, Bay Bridge is the offspring of New Bay and Multiplex mare Hayyona, a half-sister to the Gr.2 Prix Eugene Adam winner Shimraan (Rainbow Quest). The fourth dam traces back to the Gr.1 Prix de Diane heroine Shemaka (Nishapour), with the lineage including the Gr.1 Grand Prix de Paris winner and sire Shakeel (Dalakhani).
