Racing at Al Rayyan Racecourse was abandoned today due to safety concerns regarding the home turn on the turf track.
A horse came down at the 450m mark and brought down another horse. Jockey Szczepan Mazur came down in the first race and was taken to hospital with suspected collarbone and leg injuries
As a result, the remaining races, including the feature Amir Trophy, will now take place tomorrow (Sunday) at Al Uqda Racecourse.
A key adjustment has been made to the Amir Trophy, with the race distance being reduced by 100 meters to 2,300 meters. This decision ensures the safety of all participants while allowing the event to proceed smoothly.
Al Uqda is well-prepared to host the rescheduled races, and organizers are committed to delivering a successful conclusion to the festival.
