For the first time since 2021, Alan Greeff, has won the Eastern Cape Championship for trainers. The star trainer won 139 races as opposed to his nearest rival Gavin Smith with 133 in the season that concluded today for the Eastern Cape.
Greeff had 121 winners last term with Smith winning that title with 126 wins.
Greeff had a win percentage of 15.39 and sent out 903 runners. Whilst Smith averaged 11.42% from 1173 runners. Kelly Mitchley was a huge winner in 3rd with 78 winners as opposed to 40 last season. She also had more than double the amount of runners this season which shows her stable growth.
Sharon Kotzen had 41 winners with Tara Laing having 25. The Eastern Cape Record is 176 held by Alan Greeff.
Richard Fourie ran away with the jockeys title a record 119 winners. It's his third title with the first coming in 2012 with 47 winners. Last year was his second with 98 winners.
