Mumbai: The prestigious Indian Derby at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse is set for a thrilling showdown on Sunday, as five top-tier international jockeys add an exciting twist to the spectacle. Leading the charge is Irish star Oisin Murphy, who returns aboard Santissimo after his triumphant ride in the Indian 2000 Guineas.

The presence of these elite jockeys injects a new level of unpredictability into the Derby, as their tactical brilliance and pace judgment could significantly impact the outcome.

Joining him are some of the finest talents in European racing: British ace Tom Marquand, French master Christophe Lemaire, seasoned English rider David Allan, and fellow Irishman Billy James. While Murphy sticks with Santissimo, Marquand is expected to pilot Odysseus, James partners African Gold, Lemaire takes charge of Psychic Star, and Allan teams up with Golden Thunder.
