KYPRIOS ARC MAY BE ON RADAR

Kyprios, the son of Galileo, continued his remarkable comeback by defending his Irish St Leger crown at the Curragh. After a stellar 2022, where he won the Gold Cup, Goodwood Cup, Irish St Leger, and Prix du Cadran, his career was nearly cut short by a life-threatening injury in early 2023. Despite a challenging return later that year, where he was beaten in the Irish St Leger and at Champions Day at Ascot, Kyprios has regained his top form in 2024, reclaiming both the Gold Cup and Goodwood Cup.

In the 2024 Irish St Leger, Kyprios, the 2-5 favorite, tracked his stablemate The Euphrates for much of the race. Under Ryan Moore, he surged ahead in the home straight, fending off a strong challenge from Giavellotto, who had been traveling well under Oisin Murphy. Kyprios ultimately won by two and a quarter lengths, with Vauban, trained by Willie Mullins, coming from the rear to secure second, ahead of Giavellotto in third.

Aidan O’Brien praised Kyprios, calling him "one in a million" and noting that the horse has continued to improve with each passing year. Paddy Power has made Kyprios the 4-6 favorite for the Qipco British Champions Long Distance Cup, and there is even speculation of a potential Arc bid, though O’Brien emphasized that Kyprios’s welfare will dictate any further plans.
