Beach Bomb set for US start

Beach Bomb, the reigning Cape Fillies Guineas winner bred by Drakenstein Stud, will make her U.S. debut on Saturday, August 31st, under the guidance of trainer Graham Motion. This filly, previously trained by Candice Bass-Robinson in South Africa, boasts an impressive track record with four wins, including two Grade 1 victories. Her dam, Beach Beauty, was recognized as Equus Broodmare of the Year due to her successful offspring, including Beach Bomb and Narina Trogon.

Rated 117 at the time of her export, Beach Bomb is set to compete in the Violet Stakes (Race 5) at Monmouth Park, with a purse of US$100,000 over 1700 meters. Graham Motion has a history of success with South African-bred horses, having trained Gypsy’s Warning to major wins in the U.S.

Her Dam, Beach Beauty has also made her mark as a broodmare, with her Gr2-winning son Wild Coast standing at stud and other successful progeny like Rex Union and Amanzimtoti. Beach Bomb will be ridden by jockey Jairo Rendon in her upcoming race on turf.
