6 of Top 7 Lots at 2 Year old Sale Day 1 bought by Durban origin owners

Rakesh Singh, Sid Moodley, Ebrahim Khan and Trevelen Pillay bought 6 of the top 7 lots at the National 2 year old Sale in Germiston in Gauteng today.

Top lot went to former Sandringham Summit owner, Rakesh Singh who spent R2.8m on a Vercingetorix colt out of Alboran Sea, a real blue blooded pedigree. That was more than double spent by Frank Robinson's big stable owner Sid Moodley on a Buffalo Bill Cody colt. He went to R1.3m for that individual.

Ebrahim Khan was the most active buyer, getting a total of 8 lots for R4.48m.

Tinnie Prinsloo will train the top priced colt out of his Kzn base.

Form Bloodstock bought 5 for a total of R3.225m.

The buyer profile showed the muscles flexed by the powerful Indian community who by and large control Kzn racing from a punting and owning perspective. They seem to have invested in stock in anticipation for the changes coming to Kzn racing. Bortz and Hollywood have always advocated big changes in Kzn and that surely will come at the executive level as well due to the troubled past of the company.
