SEE IT AGAIN PRIMED FOR CHAMPIONS CUP

See It Again could be primed for the Grade 1 Champions Cup at Greyville on Sunday.

As the World Pool event and the final Grade 1 of the season for middle distance, the HKJC Champions Cup could be the race where See It Again seizes victory. Given the weights, this seems likely, especially after the interference he suffered at the end of the Durban July.

In that race, won by Oriental Charm (who isn't competing in this event), See It Again was just 1.8 lengths off the winner despite carrying more weight than anyone else in the field. This positions him favorably in this weight-for-age contest.

The main threats are likely to come from Dave The King, with his front-running or handy running style over the short Greyville run in, and Cousin Casey from the older brigade. Additionally, Flag Man from the three-year-old crop is showing improvement and if he can beat the likes of See It Again it will be a race for the ages. Royal Victory faces a tough challenge at the weights and seems outmatched if the real See It Again shows up.

See It Again is having his third run after a rest, while Dave The King is the current Gold Challenge winner over a mile. That’s significant form, considering the strength of that field, and beating See It Again at level weights, although the 200m shorter distance and layoff make a huge difference for Michael Roberts' charge.

Barbaresco likely found the 2200m distance a bit too long and may fare better over 1800m, but it look tough at weight for age.
