Luke Ferraris on the Double

South African Jockey Luke Ferraris and Mark Newnham showcased their strong and successful partnership with a double victory, winning with Setanta in the Class 4 Pearce Memorial Challenge Cup Handicap (1650m) and One For All in the second section of the Class 4 Ng Tung River Handicap (1200m) at Happy Valley on Wednesday night.

Reflecting on their productive alliance, Newnham expressed his satisfaction: "We're going well. We've had a good second half. I think this is the fourth meeting in a row we've had a winner, so if we can keep that up until the end of the season, I'll be very happy."

Ferraris also praised Newnham's unwavering support throughout the season. "Mark has been fantastic to me. He’s really supported me solidly throughout the season and, as I’ve touched on before, it’s always nice to repay him with a winner – long may it continue," Ferraris remarked.

Their recent victories highlight the effective collaboration between jockey and trainer, a partnership that has clearly hit its stride. Both Setanta's performance in the Pearce Memorial Challenge Cup and One For All's success in the Ng Tung River Handicap underscore the duo's capability and synergy on the racecourse. As their partnership progresses, all eyes will be on Ferraris and Newnham to see if they can maintain their impressive winning streak.
