Galaxy Patch Shines in Group 3 Premier Plate Victory

Galaxy Patch displayed his incredible speed once again at Sha Tin on Sunday, June 23, securing a decisive win in the HK$4.2 million G3 Premier Plate Handicap (1800m) under the guidance of trainer Pierre Ng.

Ridden by Vincent Ho, who commended the horse after the race, Galaxy Patch surged from near the back of the pack to clinch first place in the home straight. The four-year-old completed the race in 1m 48.64s, covering the last 200m in a swift 21.69s, earning him the status of second favorite.

“He’s a future star with vast potential. In my view, he was the best horse in the field, which is why he could achieve this. From a wide barrier (10), we aimed to have him settle. He was a bit keen for the first 400 meters but then relaxed just before the turn,” said Ho.

Galaxy Patch had previously won the HK$4.2 million G3 Lion Rock Trophy Handicap (1600m) earlier this month, adding to his impressive record of six wins from 12 starts in Hong Kong. His recent performances also include runner-up finishes in the HK$13 million G1 Queen’s Silver Jubilee Cup (1400m) and the HK$26 million BMW Hong Kong Derby (2000m).
