Recent Gr2 WSB Guineas winner and the leading favorite for the R5 million Gr1 Hollywoodbets Durban July, Green With Envy, tops the list of twelve elite nominations for the Gr1 Daily News 2000.

Dean Kannemeyer’s colt has shown remarkable progress, clinching the Gr1 Splashout Cape Derby and displaying a powerful finishing kick to overtake Sandringham Summit in the Gr2 WSB Guineas—a distance some thought would be too short for the Derby champion.

Of the nine nominations, seven are rated 109 or higher, showcasing the high caliber of competition Green With Envy is set to face at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday, May 25. 

The Gr1 Woolavington 2000, open to older fillies and mares, features Andre Nel’s Saartjie, who made a strong case for herself with a decisive victory in the Listed KRA East Coast Cup, coming from nearly last to edge out Brett Crawford’s Future Girl in the final strides. Saartjie also has an entry in the Gr1 Hollywoodbets Durban July.

Among the three-year-olds, recent Gr2 SA Oaks winner Frances Ethel stands out. After finishing second in her debut over 1400m, she has secured four consecutive wins, including The Oaks Trial and The Oaks.
