Ten Happy Rose wins Victoria Mile

Ten Happy Rose surprised many by clinching her first graded victory and G1 title at this year's Victoria Mile, overcoming her previous sixth-place finish in the Hanshin Himba Stakes G2. Trainer Daisuke Takayanagi secured his second JRA-G1 title, while jockey Akihide Tsumura celebrated his first career G1 victory.

Ten Happy Rose's journey to success included a winless streak over a mile followed by four wins after stepping down in distance to 1,400 meters. In the race, she broke sharply but settled fourth from the rear, gradually making up ground and showing impressive acceleration in the homestretch for a 1-1/4-length victory. Jockey Tsumura expressed his gratitude for the support and hopes for more victories like this. Fierce Pride finished second after overtaking early leaders but was outrun by the winner, while Masked Diva, the race favorite, faced disadvantages and finished third.

Other notable performances include Doe Eyes showing effort despite being checked, Rouge Lignage launching a late speed, and Umbrail weakening in the last 100 meters despite hugging rails. Moryana circled wide to finish seventh, while Namur lacked a needed kick, finishing eighth. Stunning Rose tracked leaders but remained in contention until the final 100 meters, while Sound Vivace weakened after being checked. Kita Wing failed to reach contention despite taking an economic trip, and Feel Sympathy dropped back after initially stalking the leader. Conch Shell disputed the lead but faded in the final stretch, and Lilac saved ground but had no response when asked. Confidence level: 100%.
