See It Again destroys Stars in Green Point Stakes

Charles Dickens' drift in the betting at the business end of wagering showed that it was game on and, it was certainly game on. In fact, it was the worst run of the colts career to date based on his finish position but the day belonged to See It Again who took out the Gr2 Green Point Stakes. It's a race only Gr2 in name but certainly had a full Gr1 field.

It was touted as a match between three stars, Charles Dickens, See It Again and reigning Horse of the Year, Princess Calla. However it was no race at all as Charles Dickens saw the behind of See It Again for the second time in three starts and twice at Kenilworth as the Nick Jonsson owned star galloper shot past Charles Dickens like he was standing still and in a matter of strides out the race to bed. In what can only be termed a preparation run for the King's Plate and Cape Met, it was super impressive.

Princess Calla failed to fire when only fourth beaten 2.45 lengths whilst the run of the race outside of the winner was that of runner up At My Command, who was a picture of health pre-race.

The once Champion Jockey of Great Britain and much lauded star jockey around the world, Michael 'Muis' Roberts, trains See It Again. He finished his 3 year old career with a defeat to Princess Calla in the Champions Cup but is now looking close to the finished product and looks a far better racehorse. He was lightly handled by Piere 'Striker' Strydom who has postponed his retirement to ride this horse. The disappointment of the race has to be multiple Grade 1 winner Al Muthana, who at 129, will take a ratings drop due to two substandard efforts.

All isn't lost if one looks at the straight line distance covered by Charles Dickens who ran 1.6 lengths further than the winner whilst Princess Calla also had a less than optimal run, she ran 3.3 lengths more than the winner and beaten 2.45 lengths. Had she had a better trip, she may well have proven to be better opposition for the supreme See It Again. She is definitely, the 'take out' horse of this race and one to watch.in the King's Plate.

See It Again flew at the business end, finishing his final 400m in 23.61s and final 200m of 12.25s in a race with a final time of 96.84s as opposed to a 98.63s in the Fillies Guineas a race later.

See It Again is a 3 parts brother to dual July winner Do It Again, both by Twice Over.
