Think About It hits Peak in World's richest turf race

Think About It, once considered a runt with a meager price tag of $70,000, has defied expectations to become a TAB Everest champion. Syndicator Jamie Walter's gamble on this skinny, lanky yearling has paid off handsomely, with prizemoney nearing $11 million. Trained by Joe Pride, the horse, affectionately known as Spuds, showcased tenacity and a formidable racing spirit.

Growing up at Newgate, Think About It wore their cap and shared the slot with GPI Racing. In a triumphant TAB Everest, trainer Joe Pride secured first and third positions, with Private Eye claiming another spot. Despite a challenging race, Think About It's unbeaten streak prevailed, illustrating his relentless determination.

Reflecting on the victory, Pride remarked on the horse's unassuming physicality, attributing his success to an exceptional motor and a sharp mind. With only 12 starts, Think About It climbed the Everest, maintaining an undefeated record from behind.

The TAB Everest race unfolded predictably, with Overpass leading and challenges from Alcohol Free and Cylinder. However, once Think About It took the lead, there was no surpassing him. Jockey Sam Clipperton praised the horse's ability to find a way to win, emphasizing his potential for future dominance.

As Think About It secures victory in the TAB Everest, attention turns to his future. Currently leading the series after wins in the Premiere and the Everest, he eyes a significant bonus in the $3 million Giga Kick Stakes at Rosehill on November 4. The potential for an additional $1.25 million bonus, along with another million if he secures victory, adds further intrigue to Think About It's burgeoning racing career.
