Millard to Quit Hong Kong

Tony Millard, the last of the South African trainers in Hong Kong, has turned in his licence. The decorated trainer and son of the legendary Terrance, has been in Hong Kong for a few decades and has had some legendary Hong Kong stars since his move in 1999.

The 61 year old trained the likes of Sweet Sanette, a South African, and the smashing Ambitious Dragon, who was undoubtedly his star horse.

In South Africa he trained the likes of Empress Club and would have highlighted her as absolutely world class.

"The Licensing Committee, by way of written resolutions, resolved to approve Trainer Anthony Millard to relinquish his Trainer’s licence for the 2023/2024 racing season," said the press statement
