Frantastic – The Full Brother to Cracksman Standing in South Africa
Frantastic hails from a Group 1-producing female line which has also produced influential stallions. The family traces back to Tessa Gillian, the high-class full sister to sire Royal Charger and three-part sister to Nasrullah.
Frantastic is a full brother to English Champion Three-Year-Old Cracksman (Timeform 136), who has already made his mark as a sire through horses such as Ace Impact, winner of both the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and Prix du Jockey Club (French Derby), and now a stallion in France.
Ace Impact’s dam, Absolutely Me, is by Anabaa Blue, a grandson of Allegretta, who is also the granddam of Galileo, sire of the legendary Frankel. Anabaa Blue carries a notable double cross of Riverman, a son of Never Bend.
Ace Impact’s granddam, Tadawul (by Diesis), features a double cross of Crepello, one of which comes through Bustino, who also appears in the pedigree of Cracksman through his broodmare sire Pivotal.
The fifth dam of Frantastic and Cracksman is Courtessa, a daughter of Supreme Court (by Precipitation) out of Tessa Gillian, the three-part sister to Nasrullah by Nearco. This is a pedigree pattern frequently found among Frankel’s highest-class performers.
Courtessa is also the ancestress of Champion Golden Horn. The latter is by Cape Cross, whose granddam Balidaress is closely related to Courtessa, further underlining the depth and quality of this outstanding female family.
