Sean Tarry Racing had an outstanding day at Turffontein over the weekend, securing an impressive five victories.
In a remarkable display, Sean Tarry saddled the first three winners of the day. Among his successful charges, Mrs Browning and Lucky Lad stood out by clinching the Gr2 Camellia Stakes and the Gr2 Jehan Malherbe Senor Santa Stakes, respectively.
Lucky Lad, last season's best sprinting two-year-old, showcased his speed over his prefered trip by claiming his fourth graded win in the Gr2 Jehan Malherbe Senor Santa Stakes. Guided by Richard Fourie, Lucky Lad triumphed over seasoned competitors, solidifying his reputation as a top sprinter. The Gimmethegreenlight colt, bred by Varsfontein Stud, has already amassed an impressive record, including victories in prestigious races like the Gr1 Gold Medallion and Gr2 SA Nursery.
Another notable performer from the Tarry yard was Mrs Browning, who secured her second graded win of the season in the Gr2 Camellia Stakes. Ridden by Craig Zackey, Mrs Browning displayed her class, adding to her impressive season achievements. Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, the four-year-old filly has enjoyed a stellar campaign, including a victory in the Gr3 Joburg Tourism Carry On Alice Stakes.
Additionally, the Tarry Yard showcased promising two-year-olds, with horses like Legend Of Arthur, World Of Alice, and Proceed making a significant impact with their victories at Turffontein.
Legend Of Arthur, a progeny of the ill-fated Lancaster Bomber, impressed with his second win from three starts, demonstrating immense potential for the future. Under the guidance of Richard Fourie, the Drakenstein Stud-bred colt dominated the Juvenile Plate.
World Of Alice, a progeny of the young sire One World, showcased her potential by securing victory in her Juvenile Plate (Fillies). Despite showing signs of inexperience, World Of Alice displayed determination, clinching the win by a narrow margin. Bred by Varsfontein Stud, she continues to garner attention as a promising prospect.
Proceed, sharing the same sire as Lucky Lad, bounced back from a disappointing run in the Gr2 SA Nursery to claim victory in the Gr3 Protea Stakes. With an impressive finish under Richard Fourie, Proceed affirmed Sean Tarry's confidence in his abilities. Owned by Jarryd, Laurence, and Tessa Wernars, Proceed adds another feather to his cap with this noteworthy win, further solidifying his potential for future success.
