IDEAL WORLD making his mark as a stallion of note


IDEAL WORLD
is making his mark as a successful stallion in South Africa. He is by KINGMAMBO, a champion three year old in Europe. KINGMAMBO won five races from 1200m to 1600m. He won three Grade 1 races at two and three. IDEAL WORLD won four times at three and four. Two of the wins were in listed races in France. He won over distances from 1950m to 2500m.

His most notable progeny has to be SMART CALL who won the Grade 1 Woolavington at Durban's Greyville Race Course at the end of May last year. At the beginning of the year she won the Grade 1 Maine Chance Farm Paddock Stakes at Kenilworth in Cape Town and then three weeks later she beat a predominantly male field in Cape Town's premier race, also at Kenilworth, the Grade 1 J & B Met. All in all SMART CALL has won seven races, three of which were Grade 1 races for stakes of R3 500 000.

SMART CALL, trained by Alec Laird, has left the South African shores for Mauritius where she will spend a few months in quarantine before she jets herself to Kentucky in the USA where she will line up in Kentucky for the Breeders Cup Mile for Fillies and Mares on the Turf later this year.

Her sires dam, BANKS HILL, won this race won this race fourteen years ago. She was awarded the titles of European Champion three year old Filly in 2001, Eclipse Female Turf Champion in USA in 2001; Champion three year old Filly International Classification 2001; Joint top rated older mare in Europe 2002

Currently IDEAL WORLD stands at the Mauritzfontein Stud in Kimberley, a town in the Northern Cape. Mauritzfontein goes back to the diamond rush in the 1880's and is synonymous with the name "Oppenheimer" Founded by Sir Ernest Oppenheimer and passed down to his son Harry and his wife Bridgette and now it is in the hands Jessica Slack, daughter of Mary Slack who is daughter of Harry and Bridgette Oppenheimer.
